In the past, powerful people were forcing the weak to work for them, and it was called slavery.

Later, they realized it could be done without forcing, through clever storytelling. They just needed to convince the herd that they are not forced and work willingly.

Nowadays, we are forced to work for powerful people, but we call it freedom.
