Tech can be build but the convince people are used to will be the hardest nut to break.
Yes but we're also stupid as tech people, we expect people to jump ship, just because the tech is better, which is not going to happen. We need to be able to provide the same experience if not better, on the alternate tech than they have on their regular tech, that's when they realize that they're fighting a losing battle.
Which is what I think the problem is with mesh networks today. They work in their own silo. They don't communicate with regular internet. They don't use the existing stack. They should.
Which is why I think nostr could help bridge that. You can remain in your mesh and communicate with a nostr relay that could connect you with anyone, or anything.
