Over the past month, there's been a lot of cleanup of lightning channels with single direction payment flows.

These channels should be closed after a time since they are no longer useful for routing payments. In most cases, there are already parallel routes with sufficient liquidity to settle payments.

Overall payment pathfinding and payment success is expected to improve since the remaining channels have a better chance of successfully routing payments.

Our observation of the Lightning Network capacity decreasing recently has been validated other lightning network explorers and verified by on-chain proof that the channel UTXOs have been spent.
