there's a storm blowing in here in sao vicente

so loud that the sound of the wind buffeting around the building drew my attention to it despite there being a quite loud, white noisy air purifier fan blowing

just checking outside, there's still some strong wind out, but for now around my house it's easing

but i think that tonight there is gonna be a heavy storm

the oddest thing is i can feel air movement that i don't normally notice, so it's a pretty strong wind... got all the windows shuttered if they have shutters, it could be a big one tonight

indeed, there is a big weather system currently centered over the northeast of the azores

https://zoom.earth/maps/wind-speed/#view=34.72,-23.04,5z/model=icon is the site and the view on it that gives you that... it is animated... the color areas, that yellow means about 50km/h

there's worse windspeeds up to the top right of this snap, that's just south of the UK

probably no big deal for now but maybe we get some more night and early morning rain here

the rain has been coming down pretty intensely of late, especially in the mornings

Do those islands produce enough food not to starve when the SHTF happens?

it's very rich soil and there is shitloads of potatoes, sweet potatoes, various curcurbits, bananas, lots of cattle and goats

i am pretty sure things wouldn't be too bad if we were cut off
