So either the definition is circular (not a definition) or Bitcoin is not the currency (or both)

It’s a terminology issue. It’s both the term for the trust network and the term for digital value AND yet…not mentioned in the white paper. Makes it fun! And confusing. Requiring everyone to do research.

The whitepaper actually says that Bitcoin is a digital signature
