Seems silly but there may be lots of people who really want to get off of Windows but don’t want to spend the time learning a new OS before continuing with tasks.

I get the is and ease of use ... my exception is the Microsoft apps. If you're getting away from windows to escape surveillance but then adding Microsoft apps you never left
Yeah that is true. I’m not sure what actual Microsoft apps are included, but if it’s the office apps people are worried about, LibreOffice seems similar enough in UX to Microsoft Office.
Yep, or use the microsoft office web apps. 95% of the functionality without the spyware deep in the system. Or just use windows 😄 .
agree with you that you shouldn't have to learn new flows just to try linux
