I have no idea really how a social media grows beyond the niche early adopters to wider appeal 🤔 I take your points tho and I think I mostly agree. I'm just curious how that step happens, I don't think it is guaranteed even if the tech is good.

Probably not a good time for Nostr in the form of twitter clone clients. imo twitter has the userbase coupled with a just-about-free-enough content policy for most users and content creators. Obviously this could change at any moment, so there's that, possibility in the future.

One of Nostr's strengths and uniqueness is being able to build on it, and it should definitely attract more builders. (Coding is increasingly a 'normie' area of interest anyway maybe?) I think a lot of the nostr ethos isnt exclusive to b!tcoiners, but I see the overlap you're suggesting.

I think a lot of it comes down to b!tcointwitter culture which was inevitably to be brought over to here. But seems overwhelming in the feed with not much else around for it to be amongst, ie the sloganeering and jokes. This doesn't really appeal to anyone outside of BT, and even within BT itself.

I suppose I see it as the difference between being a Cyclist ™️ and riding a bike. I think the 'normie' and a lot of non-normies like b!tcoin, hold it, like the idea of tipoing in it etc they just don't want to consume BT culture (or not exclusively). They're not the lycra wearers, they just ride a bike lol:) 🤔
