Love how #nostr is working out for you Colin! The thing with Substack though is that it’s like investing long-term, the gains come later. Assuming you got some new subscribers from all those likes, over time one or more of them might become a paid subscriber, you never know. At the very least you have their email address and can reach them directly when necessary. Whereas Nostr’s benefits are more immediate and just a different kind of community altogether. Fascinating times though, we’re considering hibernating our Instagram indefinitely.

Oh, I totally agree. Substack is great, and I love the platform for sharing ideas and connecting with an audience. But having a system like Nostr, where you can directly give and receive value, would be a game changer for artists.

Likes and reshares are nice, sure, but the ability to transact immediate value - real, tangible support - elevates the relationship between creators and their audience. Substack needs to get with it because this kind of functionality is the future.
