That's what you get for relying on a huge French company. They even take everything you paid for, no matter how much you paid, just because you did not log into the account for a while.

I personally have experienced such idiotic policies myself by having been a victim of them.

I've lost a couple of accounts due to such rules. One of them was a #diaspora* account, which really disappointed me, because I was there, to get to know an alternative just to realise my account has been purged when I didn't log in for a couple of months.

This also reminds me of how centralised #Mastodon is in a way.

Years back, I created an account on a server, that was brand new back then.

My account is still there, but I wasn't able to log in, because apparently they changed some login stuff, so my old login does not work.

Now, I would need to beg the server owners for their mercy, so my account gets loginable, once more.

This means, if the server owners wouldn't like me, they could simply refuse access.

Needless to say, I didn't beg, because the only time I'm involved in a begging situation is when someone's begging me.

Long live #Nostr.

Due to this #Ubisoft fuck up, I logged into my uPlay account (yes, that's how it is actually called) & was relieved to have everything still work.

Out of curiosity I enabled the Beta version of the client and...

Like, this is the stupidest UX overhaul I have ever seen. They copied the worst game launcher on the market, i.e. Epic Games' launcher.

Epic Games' launcher is the worst client I have ever used for any games. Literally any other client is better, Origin, Blizzard, Bethesda (back then), some small game companies' clients, not to mention Steam has gotten so much better recently.

But from all these successful clients, they pick the one with the worst performance & worst UX. The Epic Games client.

The Epic Games launcher is the worst launcher of all, because it barely has any features, you cannot configure shit, it takes *forever* to load one single page on a gaming PC & constantly issues annoying updates, which sole purpose are to grab even more personal information about you.

I guess, I shouldn't have been surprised to see Ubisoft of all do this, since they are famous for this kind of shit, at least since The Division!

#FuckEpicGames #FuckUbisoft btw.
