Not anymore. I thought about it occasionally back in the days, but haven't thought about it for a very long time. Why? Is it still alive?

Just browsing for the first time. Seems pretty alive. Different crowd but not as bad as I would have thought after some comments here. That’s just my first impression though after a couple of minutes.

Of course the comments here will be a little harsher than the reality is. It is a competing platform with a relatively similar approach and use case. Or to be precise Nostr is what Mastodon was supposed to be.

It's not that bad, the users (and even admins/mods) arent as horrible as often described (for the most part), but it does have inherent flaws.

People talk much different topics in there when it’s compared to nostr. Other than that, no reason to stick with that.

Its pretty bad. I ran an instance for a little while. Because I federated with bitcoinhackers it got me on a mess of block lists by default. Kinda pushing me into the cess pit of the fediverse. I had to do shit loads of moderation to not see porn or nazis.

What is different here? Global feed can be kinda messy.

I would say primary difference here is im not blocked by most of the network just because I chose to associate with bitcoiners and dident state my instances speech policys (it was just me and 2 friends who used it)

And while global can be a mess using the right relay said makes a massive diffrence as "global" is a bit of a misnomer on nostr imo.

Set*

Global feed is probably improved by Gossip and maybe detailed client settings - I agree there. Blocking whole servers does also not seem the way to me. I could find NVK though.
