Not really. Yes, the US$ was shored up with Saudi's requiring payment in US$ for oil. This forced the world into 'collecting' US$ to buy Oil. This system has solidified itself in the world - i.e. US$ as a Global Reserve Currency.

Any extra US$ fund the US debt through treasuries (the world 'saves' in US treasuries - as a liquid asset).

The problem here is US$ is actually NOT an energy money. And the US Government has cheated for decades printing more of it - because they can. The narrative that the US$ is backed by energy, and the US Military is basically made up fiction. US$ is just a fiat currency used by the US to control other countries (and export inflation from the USA).

US sorta has the world by the balls right now. It's very hard to break from the network - because so many have a vested interest in the US$ network - they keep using it. But that is starting to crack.

Sadly, when it does actually break, it will likely break very quickly.

Yes, #Bitcoin is scarce - as one of the fundamental requirements of real money. But the energy part is the most important. Proof of Work protects that network so it remains scarce. And remains verifiable.
