"There can not be privacy in base layer bitcoin, get over it. This is an explicit trade off made for auditablity."

True you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Thanks for admitting this. That settles it. Time to start building privacy layers on an encrypted blockchain like Monero. Better for privacy.

Thats not how this works 😆 🤣 😂

Let's say my boomer dad is brand new to BTC and wants increased privacy is it easy to achieve or is it easier to achieve with Monero?

BTC needs to make it this easy as an option without all the hoops to jump through. The typical normie, or the tech adverse will struggle greatly with this and may give up. I'm too damn stubborn to give up, but there's a lot of hurdles for someone who isn't tech savvy to get through to try and increase obfuscation with BTC. Is there not?

I really don't know so I'm asking. I see a use case for both. I won't stop wanting increased privacy in BTC, I don't care if it's L2. At least if it's solid at L2 I can move back on chain and have better privacy than I did. It needs to be extremely easy for people though especially as NGU because of security concerns.
