It lets you add an apps GitHub link, then it takes care of downloading the apk and updating for you. Amazingly handy for fast moving apps like Amethyst!

Nice! I do that by hand for onyx.

Does it delete the old apk?

Do I have to turn on/leave on download from unknown sources? Because I usually turn that on and right back off after each apk.

It updates the current app, you will need to select the Google play version and it should update fine. I leave unknown sources on for Obtainium. Onyx will work too with it too, anything on GitHub. It also can do fdroid APK as well.
