I like how Amethyst puts my follows at the top. Or at least it seems to. I've never noticed a problem until this. I like the idea of an explicit icon though.
Amethyst also does it nicely with a purple icon overlay that's very clearly part of the Amethyst interface and not inside a text field.
That said nostrudel still my web client and I don't mind being careful about the rare tag of an account.
About a year ago I proposed attestations on the NIP-05 level. Essentially a web of trust between identity providers. It was pretty cumbersome, but I think this just more refined will be the way. Big NIP-05 providers with thousands of users without any type of rules or vetting process are making the originally great idea into rubbish. https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1210
