I'm more worried about artificial sweeteners tbh.
I understand sugar is bad too though obviously but just let them also know that aspartame is dodgy and should probably be avoided.
I have a mate who got diabetes very bad. And I definitely wouldn't want my kid to go through what he had so yeah well done for the education, and extra points for doing it in a visual, hands on way that your kids are more likely to pay attention too and retain the information.

Artificial sweeteners are also a big nono.
My boy was asking why he could have sprite he got from a party for breakfast.
Is stevia also on the bad sweetener list? I don’t use it, can’t stand the taste. Just wondering if it’s as awful as the rest.
It’s not really my speciality, but I teach the kids that some stuff is generally good and some stuff is generally bad. Then I teach them to hit up the good stuff a lot more.
Had to stop my 8yo from eating 2 head a of romaine (our lunch) lettuce for breakfast.
