Ok, so #[3]​ gave me a descent prime on space chains. I still struggle on the why would want this for.

He must have given you a primer including spacecoins. Please remove that from your head, we don't need spacecoins, just the blockchain with no native currency in it.
One use case is a decentralized name registry that is scalable and works. Other obvious use cases are NFTs and issued assets, which I personally don't have a use for, but there is clearly market demand for it, so they might as well do it on a blockchain with no premined shitcoin and paying fees to Bitcoin miners.
These 3 use cases are being done on Ordinals right now, which is a waste and unsustainable.
Other ideas that could be interesting:
- issuing "wrapped BTC" tokens secured by Fedimints or something like that, in a blockchain where they could be freely exchanged and used to open Lightning channels which are then bridged to the mainchain Lightning Network.
- a version of https://bitcoinhivemind.com using these wrapped assets or something else.
