Yeah. The point is though… people wonder so hard, about how half the country feels like they don’t matter and are just used as an ATM machine.
Agreed. They call the election before polls close in the west and wonder why we're alienated out here, it's just a microcosm for the country.
I was at a work conference about 7 years ago in Toronto, and over lunch I was talking with my colleagues from Ontario. I mentioned that I know several people that, to this day, won't fuel up at Petro-Canada because of Trudeau Sr and the National Energy Program. It blew their minds.
Yeah, it doesn’t matter how we vote out West it seems. Biggest contributors to the country, not getting anywhere close to the weighted representation. Feels very Hunger Games… the Oil District provides all the wealth for the capital, yet treated as nothing more than an ATM.
I don’t want to see the country break up, but I get how the Alberta separatists would feel the way they do. And Saskatchewan too. Heck, a lot of BC too.
