NOW — York Council has confirmed via FOI that taxpayers’ money is being spent to remove St George’s Cross and Union Jack flags in response to Operation Raise the Colours.

It was revealed that:

- £3,948 has been spent removing flags from public property

- £2,775 has been spent repainting or cleaning roundabouts

- A total of £6,723 of public money used so far

- The council logged 234 public complaints about the flags

How did your council go bust? I think getting them to remove flags is as good a reason as any!!!!
