With the number of media and tech companies of various flavors that seem to have no problem using the terms "purchase," "own," or "buy," instead of the reality that we largely rent our media and tech in one way or another logically leads one to the conclusion that downloading content in what would be traditionally seen as pirating is no longer illegal, or at the very least, is no longer morally wrong.
I believe it was Sony that had the Discovery stuff on their platform and even though people had bought it and had it on their systems, Sony chose to remove the content entirely so that even those who had spent money on it no longer had access to it. They're far from the only ones as well.
