See those suckers coming up from the ground? I was not the only person to warn the local council not to plant invasive ornamental pear trees.

They're known to have weak branches which snap easily, known to have invasive roots, the hard inedible pears cause a trip hazard on the street the flowers smell like cat piss and cause allergies for a lot of people.

But you don't understand, they got declared a noxious weed so they were incredibly cheap as nobody else wanted to run the risk of EPA fines for planting them, and the nursery owner is a good friend of the mayor.....
