How does fiat survive once bitcoin reaches a point where it equals or overtakes it as a medium of exchange? If we’re being honest it’s easier, as of now, to tap my card than it is to pay via lightning or any other layer two, but that’ll probably change as the tech improves.

It’s already more durable, just as divisible, just as portable, and a better store of value.

Once paying in bitcoin is as easy as tapping my card there’s literally zero reason to use fiat.

In the same way there’s zero peso demand in the US because the dollar is objectively better there will be zero dollar demand because bitcoin is objectively better. I’m not saying it happens anytime soon, but eventually fiat dies because there’s no longer any demand for it.
