And some like Flipper will get their account frozen indefinitely, while the customers were still billed and thus the company is still supposed to deliver the product without being paid.

In one project I had frozen Stripe account because they required regular KYC but stopped supporting doc I used and no chance to obtain one of docs they support.
Seemed they confiscated the balance.
But, we found the solution: Contact few customers who paid lately, explain the situation and ask them to pay by bank transfer when I refund them (almost only write action not blocked on the frozen account). Finally the balance was slightly negative and account abandoned.
