We have had a neighbour's dog come into the garden and try to get under the quail houses. I am gratefully forbidden from killing this cute dog. So, we reinforce!

The houses are both caged underneath. The left one is wrapped in it, whereas the right one is a single stapled sheet, so less secure. Also, it is not mouse proof like the left one. I put bricks supported by deep sticks under and around the right one, then packed with gravel and sand. The left one just has bricks around it and under it, supported by gravel and sand that will lock down nicely when we get some rain. Basically, the left one is supposed to be more inviting, but less penetrable.
