It's silly to me that T1D and T2D are lumped together under diabetes. They have completely different etiology where using the term diabetes for both causes massive public confusion of the disease.

I never wanna sound bitchy about this topic but I've also lived through most of my life with it.

The amount of times I will be experiencing a low blood sugar and people will ask me if I need my insulin and if I'm sick with a high glucose ask me if I need some orange juice.

Tbh I'm terrified of having a medical emergency in public due to the misinformation and it's lately due to lumping these diseases together.

I already feel self conscious wearing my diabetes medical devices in public and knowing some people think I actively choose this hurts my heart. Trust me when I say this from the type 1 community we will gladly choose to not live through this chronic illness everyday with no days off since I was 4.
