The issue with auto-translation being baked into Nostr clients is that the translation likely is missing the tone, nuance and fluency.

The approximation is in many cases not good enough to convert the original message.

I'd rather see the original message and then have an option to translate... so I know it's a translation, thus giving me some context.

You get the original and the translated version in Damus, separated by a small text that reads “translated from [language]”
