Kabukicho, the area across from where the Godzilla head is, is entirely Yakuza controlled. It's all clubs (brothels but not legally recognized as such), catering to men and women alike. Gaijin who don't know any better go for the admittedly good food, not realizing the building next door is full of clubs and a love hotel right behind it.

The open area directly in front of the Godzilla head has been crawling with homeless kids ever since 2020, many of them also prostitutes. The area just around the corner leading to Okubo park is also famous for its long lines of prostitutes waiting to get picked up. There was an ineffective police crackdown this year, and this month the city has finally started closing the park after 9pm.

Shinjuku is where people's souls go to die. Yakuza are the enemies of everything good, and if Kiryu was real he'd be fucking children not raising them.
