I am an old retired LEO, mostly in Corrections.

As such I have a collection of firearms.

Crazy thing is,

I have had a New England Firearms 12 gauge single barrel for about 40 years.

Never used it much. Sat in the closet lonely and dusty.

I decided to cut the barrel at 19 inches. US legal, and take the choke out. Cut square, recrowned the muzzle. Reblued the barrel. Looks like factory work.

This is now one of my favorites.

Shoots straight with slugs. (Shot a hog at 100 meters with a 3" 1oz slug.)

It is my go to gun for varmints around the house. (Live in the country side.)

Made a paracord cobra braided sling for it. Installed sling swivels. Added a five round stock sleeve.

It is a jack of all trades now.

Looking for a front bead kit to install a fiber optic front sight now.

Four and a half pounds in weight.

Kicks like a stung mule with 3" shells.

It will not replace my 590A1 Shockwave for home Defense but I like it just fine.

Wish I had cut that barrel decades ago.

I call it Thumper. It will thump the shoulder something fierce.

Sitting on my screened in porch with Thumper loaded with 3" number 4 shot and a mix of shells on the stock sleeve. Rubber ball, rubber buckshot, 1 oz slug, 00 buckshot, and #4.

Waiting for armadillo bin Laddin to show up.

Or a wild boar. Not picky.
