I hate windows but need it for a few apps I really like that I don't know how to setup on Linux. While trying to create a dual boot, I screwed it all up and had to re-install windows. I didn't know it at the time but unlike windows 7, windows 11 has to connect to the internet and noticed laptops don't have ethernet port and the solutions the installation suggested to get wifi going didn't work. Lucky for me, I found out that there is usb to ethernet adapter, so I ordered it and I now have a dual boot machine with both windows and Linux. It tried to kick my ass but I won after a lot of hair pulling 😂

Yeah, 11 is the worst yet. I need to run 10 for trying to learn solid works. But gosh I hate that now, too.

Maybe I should revisit 10. 7 Ultimate was my fav. Maybe I should make a usb stick, even though it's not supported anymore.

I rink there are still ways to do it...

SW is amazing, some of the modeling it can do. SO pretty, especially for nontechnical audiences.

SWIM may or may not have a pirate copy from 2016 stashed, when it could run offline ;)

But FreeCAD is catching up on functionality, if not UX.

I learned freecad first. I do not understand solid works because I think freecad broke my brain... 😅

I learned FreeCAD first too. Then SolidWorks and AutoCAD. That last one will send you screaming back to FreeCAD. Never did master it, but the contract ran out.

I just can't get SW to easily do what I want. And that's saying something coming from freecad...

I've never heard of either.
