Sometimes i like to experiment with adding different seasonings to my homemade mayo. In this batch i added black pepper and some of my homemade hot pepper powder that i ground up recently. When you make condiments yourself, the possibilities are endless. #MakeYourOwn #homesteading #grownostr #foodstr

Base Recipe Homemade Mayo

(I double this recipe for a quart jar, and use a stick blender)

1 egg

1 cup avocado oil

1 tsp dijon mustard

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp apple cider vinegar

1/4 tsp salt

Crack egg into jar.

Add remaining ingredients into jar, adding oil last.

Mix with stick blender till its the consistency you like, and thats it. No nasty oils or additives. https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/8d9d2b77930ee54ec3e46faf774ddd041dbb4e4aa35ad47c025884a286dd65fa/11560cf6913d3cafc6e2bbd25e6543b7cfeedb9b54967403f1e65fbc754f7b78.webp

How long does this last in the fridge? We have chickens but my wife buys it because she's allergic, might try making a batch tho.

We eat alot of mayo, so i make a quart at a time ( double recipe). It will keep for a week or so, after that the consistency can start to change. You might just start with the base recipe, about half a quart.
