There is no me Nostr vs. me on Twitter.

I feel uncomfortable that I can’t delete nothing on Nostr, but I can delete everything from the public on Twitter & that data can be protected unless internally accessed. Expunged.

I don’t prefer one over the other.

I know everything on the internet is permanent, but at least on Twitter I can delete.

What happens on the Dark Web is a while different story. The small few who can access the Dark Web don’t dictate our lives, the public does.

*whole different story

You can delete on Nostr. You don’t get guaranteed delete, but it mostly works. I think it’s a mistake that Damus and others either removed or don’t have the delete option.

The next release of Nos.social even includes a feature where you set a time to live for your notes. The post itself includes the request for relays to drop it after a specified amount of time.

On thing we need is that delete events need to be blasted out to many more relays than you’re normally using. I’m going to stand up a service to do this at some point, but there’s lots to do.

Amazing. Thank you 🙏🏽

I’m here with you 🫂

If anything, relays should be in incentivised to drop events via delete, because it’s less data to store in the long run!

More clients should support this 💯

🤔

Good point!

Try the iris client. You can delete messages on there I believe. I’m not sure if a way to delete direct messages.
