Likes or reactions are inclusive. People use them and I don’t think they are pure vanity metrics. There is value to reactions behind a simple like. Even a like has some value as a read receipt. We could have a client without reactions - and I’m sure we’ll have many. But, at this point we don’t give every user a wallet the moment they create a key - we could - but we don’t. People are working on this. I’m mostly certain that if we remove reactions it won’t go over well. We already give people options to go #onlyzaps. Soon I’m sure we’ll have dedicated clients too. I think zaps are awesome, but I don’t think the current state of things is sufficient for them to totally displace reactions. Not saying we won’t get to a place where they will, but we’re not there yet.
Lol. One thing is for sure, and that is that I know I can always get a reaction out of you when I talk about “reactions” being obsoleted by zaps.

I could care less tbh. I actually want to see onlyzaps client-wide as an experiment. Snort was the first client to get a built in wallet. It wasn’t even on the to-do list until I designed it. Nostr is a great playground and play we shall!
There’s no agenda. I’m just telling you “where the puck is going” to use the analogy you brought up. Ignoring it is up to you and has no bearing on me.
Cool thing about all of this is that if the devs like onlyzaps, they may implement it quickly - your voice actually matters, unlike the evil corp socials
