Oh dang just like that. How to unplug safely ?

It was all saved so I thought it was just pictures and videos to have for back up i can just redownload some of it just simply click the button at the bottom right of the computer that looks like a USB drive and it will say safely remove...I just left it and unplugged stupidly and now alot is gone sigh is what it is...
I just looked right now when working and all my stuff did get saved so thats nice and was a close one still unplug your device on screen always first
