No doubt I value the safety of my family and fellow Americans. Having said that, it seems woefully unfair that the United States government can visit so much destruction - transgressions that have gone on now for over a century - on foreign territories without reprisals to the American Homeland.

As a believer in the inevitable mean reversion, I fear that we are approaching a reckoning that goes beyond the looting of American wealth.

Divestment from the war machine is more than a symbolic gesture, but unlikely to be a sufficient condition that will allow for peaceful change.
