Because you’re measuring it in US dollar prices versus the prices of everything else. For instance: my lake house 3.5 years ago was worth $1.4 million or 300 Bitcoin. Today it is ~ $2 million or 50 Bitcoin. In fiat it has gone “up”. In Bitcoin, it has gone down.

Once the US dollar hits hyper inflation to basically infinity, how can we measure bitcoin’s value? I’m having a hard time imagining the new system once our measuring stick is no longer a valid way of communicating value between parties. Thanks!
