Fedimint is federated, cashu can be federated, as I say this is just the beginning and you can have your own mind, the only precaution the seller has to follow is to collect before delivering the product. You can issue your own tokens with your mint you don't need a third party.

It remains to be seen how well federation will be in keeping a mint honest.

Also, if your mint only has one user (or five users) it’s not really private.

I am aware of the current limitations, but it has taken us 14 years to have chaumian eCash backed by Bitcoin, from my point of view this is great.

And it will likely take another 5 years for it to be proven out. These things are totally not ready yet

Federations will be great for community custody. But I think they will be unnecessary or not interesting for many business applications.

Have you elaborated on this somewhere? Are you thinking that many mints will just rely on reputation as the only source of honesty?
