'It was proposed that if their viewership crossed a certain threshold then these creators and influencers would have to pre-cer- tify their content through a content evaluation committee.'

This is why stealing and sharing memes is one of the most effective dissident tactics.

Nobody would know where a particular meme originates from because everybody steals memes from everybody.

There's no 'creator' or 'influencer' to ban or license.

Withdrawn! It's a win, a small one, but still, we need to be vigilant, we've already been too loose with stuff like Digi Yatra.

Though I appreciate the efforts certain organisations and initiatives are taking with regard to privacy and keeping the internet free and open in India, I am a little skeptical of the way they go about things.

They speak way too much 'legalese' and seem to focus on the legal and political side of things a bit too much. Can prove to be difficult to get people to support them without talking about concerns that affect their day-to-day life, no matter how noble the cause.

It is also difficult for me to take them seriously because they never promote, educate people or even talk about Tor, Bitcoin, Nostr, etc.

I understand, we may not like them, but I think we should take all the help we can get, maybe they are the right candidates to orange pill in the first place? It may just be that they don't understand either of these things.

It may just be that.
