Respectfully, how do you decide which invasive species are okay to have around?
Don’t most shoot out a toxin & kill the other plants around them? Genuinely, asking? 😊 I’m not sure if it changes soil health or not but it might.
Example: silk grass was brought to US in the 1800’s as packing material from Asia. Theoretically it was accidentally released. It out competes other plants by shading them or crowding them out.
Autumn olive was intentionally introduced for wildlife. The berries and thickets for habitat have been beneficial.
I’m interested in your thoughts since more people are gardening, etc. now. Thanks in advance.
