I'll be honest. I have no interest in seeing nsfw content on nostr. I'm not talking memes, but your actual porn. I don't want to see onlyfans, fansly pornhub or any other links of that nature.

Society has become so degenerate already and all of the other social media platforms are infested with this crap. Instagram is more or less nothing but whores trying to get around the "rules" and show you their ass. Twitter is probably worse. Facebook might be the only one with a decently hard stance and you can still find it there.

I'm just tired of seeing it everywhere.

I want one place where I'm free of that kind of smut.

I only wish #Amethyst could filter hashtags etc. It's not too hard to avoid here but it would be nice to have a bit more control over that.

Mute and forget. Not a hard ask. Open platform that is resilient to censorship, will not change to “only” allow some content while censoring others. You can’t have it both ways, or you can just use curated platforms that will “protect” you from all the things you don’t like. 🐶🐾🫡

I'm not asking for "protection" from anything. I'm asking for the tools to curate my feed my way, which I have learned more about simply through this post.

I'm not done meek individual who can't handle these things, I'm simply tired of the overindulgence in degeneracy that plagues society anymore which is a new development for me.

Not three years ago I was happy to see all manner of ill-clothed women in my feed, but I changed.

Excellent! It’s good to see you’ve adopted. Since nostr is new, expect lack of tools and help from the client software to curate your feed. I respect your opinion and your right to what you want to see. We have new features in work that will improve this, so please be patient and stay tuned! 🐶🐾🫡

Primal seems to be more curated for now, but others are not far behind to provide you with the tools to do so. 🐶🐾🫂

Yes, I actually am less-likely to get flashed on Nostr than on any other media, now. The curation tools have gotten quite good, especially on Amethyst.

You can block pretty much anything on Amethyst, and also nostr is in its very early infancy.

As more people join, relay runners will want to attract different kinds of crowds and it will become easier to identify relays that permit nsfw content and avoid them. Relay management will probably be built in in more seamless ways so you can hit a button and disconnect from all nsfw tolerant relays.

If you don't want to give it time to mature and use these features in the future when someone else builds it, build it yourself! Open protocol, free country. I hope you do, I'd like to see this. I'm just also good to wait on it, but I'm sure it will come.

Glad someone posted. Amethyst does have this tool. Coracle also has very good settings, mute words, it also has an interest Web of Trust setting. Nostrudel is also worth looking into for their settings.

I am so with you. I am actually trying to find out how to solve the inherent problems to that topic, both mentally and technically.

Its a thing to navigate through the ambivalence of everyday life, cause people are traumatised . Nostr is often mirroring this in a strange uncensored way.

But also, I can not expect that Nostr is solving the problem.

The other day I scrolled through global just curious for some MLK hashtags. Some pics have not been blurred but used the same hashtag. I also use some relays that filter. But I shouldn’t have done that, scrolling was a nightmare.

What I have seen-but clearly didn’t want to see-was not opinion, it was intentionally shitting in the living room of my mental palace! I really can’t let that shit in anymore.

You should build what you want, but why is it not priority to give ppl the power to filter much more efficiently?

I know there can not be a centralised solution. But what’s the alternative?

Maybe Devs don’t realise that they have the power to give people their freedom BACK by prioritising to work on filters and make it public how to correctly use them.
