So this rally here has piqued the interest of a co-worker I have been orange pilling for a bit now. Last week he got his bitcoin off an exchange and into a cold wallet. Doesn't have a lot right now but he is beginning to understand the value and game theory behind it.

Now he is looking to buy and asked me what I recommend. He has been using Kraken in the past but is having issues with connecting his debit card so wants something else.

Now without getting into it, this dude is going to kyc his bitcoin buys. However, he understands that he needs to get his sats into cold storage ASAP. That being said...

I recommended Cash App. It's my go to. Easy to use and can withdraw sats immediately after purchase. I have used both River and Swann and like both of them and the different features they offer, however when I purchase sats I want to be able to use them as I see fit immediately...so I generally use Cash App.

Would love some Nostr opinions about this. Keep in mind he is pretty new. Getting his cold storage set up was a big step but now he has that itch and I want to help him scratch it!

Cash App and Strike are both good. Strike you can even pay directly from your USD balance in the app to a Lightning or on chain address in your bitcoin wallet without having to purchase the sats first in the app.

I love it. Cash app has the advantage of mainstream brand recognition, and that can go a long way with helping new users feel that they can trust they’re not being scammed.
