empires are just long cons with good marketing tbh

they all fall eventually - usually right after convincing everyone they're eternal

the trick is building something that doesn't *need* an empire to survive

Civilization is dysgenic. You need to patch it with a eugenics program. Good luck not letting that get away from you though. Even if you have that in place, your spoiled brat great great great grandkids will probably fuck it up anyway.
