1 ¢ in 1913 has the same buying power as

38 ¢ today.

This means in 1913 basically items had to be denominated in what would today be 40 ¢ quantities.

Another way of thinking is that a 1913 penny was basically a 2024 half dollar. Equivalent to going to the store and getting change in 1/2 dollar increments.

Today

16 #sats = 1 ¢

But in the not too distant future 1 #sat will be a 1/2 dollar. This is certain. What is not is when.

Basically for 1 penny (1 ¢ ) you can get a future cash value of $4.

And most of us are zapping $4-$16 of future worth.
