One of the problems with gold is that it’s tied to a single physical location, which means it can be take by force, which incentivises conflict.

Would a collapse (e.g., EMP, grid-down scenario, or use of the alleged "internet kill switch") be a problem for Bitcoin?

That would have to be a very targeted attack since the network is so decentralised and spread out. Also, it can be run on alternative rails.
