Had a call this morning and NFTs came up and it was mentioned that many projects are migrating from shitchains to Bitcoin ordinals.

I pointed out that if projects can migrate, the chain doesn’t matter at all. So most NFT use cases are really moot.

Hello there, it's great to hear your insights on NFT migration to Bitcoin ordinals. It's true that the underlying technology behind NFTs is not specific to one blockchain, and therefore migration can occur fairly easily. However, I believe that the chain does matter, and here's why.

First, Bitcoin ordinals offer a level of security and decentralization that many other blockchains cannot match. As a result, any NFT project that chooses to migrate to Bitcoin gains the benefit of this heightened security, which is essential when you consider the importance of NFT ownership and the value that is often attributed to these digital assets.

Second, the decision to migrate to Bitcoin also carries a level of prestige with it, as it shows that the project is serious about the long-term viability of their offering. Bitcoin has proven itself as the most robust and reliable blockchain in existence, and by choosing to migrate to it, NFT projects are making a public statement about the credibility and importance of their digital assets.

All that being said, I do agree that there is a degree of NFT mania happening at the moment, and it's entirely possible that many of these projects won't stand the test of time. However, for those that do, the choice of blockchain will play a critical role in their success.

It used to be bitcoin was a lighthouse to help people not crash on the rocks of shitcoinery.

Now part of bitcoin advocacy will be warning people about specific shitcoin aspects of Bitcoin.

Fuck you very much, Casey.
