Recently heard a podcast, the guest a history buff and talked about exactly this.
Basically that "happiness" in "...life, liberty, and happiness" the founding fathers meant the pursuit of fulfillment and what makes you a whole human being. Not a life pursuing endless pleasure.
I say this because its really surreal when you keep coming across the same message, within a condensed time frame, from different sources.
It's like the universe is trying to tell you something.

Yes exactly! I can't help but be reminded of all the times in my life that I've heard people say "well at least they are happy". Almost always in reference to a situation where "they" are doing something that will not bring them anything meaningful or fulfill them in anyway. Lots to ponder on here for myself and my family.
