I've heard that "death to X" doesn't literally mean death, it's a colloquialism. They say things like "death to politeness" meaning let's stop being polite for the moment. But I could be wrong, I don't speak Arabic, so this could be wild misinformation. Do your own research.

There is a hadith from "the Prophet" roughly translated as:

Abdullah b. 'Umar reported that Allaah's Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: The Jews will fight against you and you will gain victory over them until the stone would say: Muslim, here is a Jew behind me; kill him.

That is quoted in the Hamas 1988 charter (translation here is questionable, the original is not in english and probably doesn' t have these parentheticals) as:

"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

This quote, which is not a direct call to action, being in the Hamas charter, is all the evidence Israel needs to claim Hamas intends to kill all the Jews.

Incidently the new 2017 Hamas charter doesn't include that quote anymore and they are very clear this time that they have no problem whatsoever with people practicing the Jewish religion, only with the taking of their land by Zionists (You could say it's a lie and a public relations stunt, and i could not adjudicate that).

I think everybody exaggerates. Israel is not commiting a genocide, but it is directionally correct. Gaza is not an open-air prison, but it is directionally correct. Palestinians do not all hate Jews, but it is directionally correct.

Is it true that the Gaza Strip is approx 2 million people in size. Of that 2 million, over 1 million are children?

Facts matter too. If that is true then that is true. If that isn’t true then that isn’t true.

Yes that is true.

What % of people arguing with you (either way) understand those set of facts?

Less than hoped for. But hope springs eternal I guess.

That’s a huge issue and thus the emotional argument becomes the primary. I don’t claim to know much but indisputable facts seem a good place to start any argument.

I think the best is to talk local people and know. You can invite them fia simplex Chat to talk in anonymity
