I really fucking tried too, even had a girlfriend many years ago that was into it. She gave me this spiel about how some anime is art and I mustn't have seen the good ones yet. Made me sit through a couple of hours of this interminable anime movie.

I fucking hated it but had to pretend I didn't. I should've known then that it was never going to work.
