Repeating the same measurement over and over is a waste of time.

Whenever you have repetitive measurements, make yourself a gauge block.

This trick works from construction, machining to woodworking.

When putting up the siding on my new shop. I was spacing boards at 4 inches apart. I made a gauge block cut at 4 inches wide to automatically space them apart.

All without using my tape measure!

Any time you make the same measurement over ten times, it saves time to make a gauge block.

But don’t you need a tape measure to make your gauge block? πŸ˜†

Sure, but, you only need it once. This way is a lot faster.

No... You can use a ruler or just gauge the gauge block...

There is one in every crowd...πŸ™„

Cheers!
