Mods on reddit are going on strike against the platform. They’re turning their subreddits private in protest.

I doubt anybody at Reddit remembers the reason that Reddit ended up taking off was because of a similar user rebellion at Digg. Users can take collective action against platforms and if it takes off, either platform gives in or dies.

Glad we have nostr I was going nuts thinking I'm done with Reddit then 🤣🤣

⬆️

It’s a shame that it has to come to this, it’s never good for anyone.

Yeah it is really bittersweet. I’ve spent the last 9 years on Reddit and I’m really going to miss it but at the same time the Reddit I knew has been gone for awhile now. This was just the last nail in the coffin.

Yes see this is very disappointing.

Thank you 💜🫂🧡

Chaos boner

Yea I wish I could use this as an opportunity to pull people toward Nostr, but I feel like everyone is already talking too much about Lemmy, and that the clients on Nostr, so far, such as Zappdit, and Satellite.Earth, aren't quite ready yet and/or what people are looking for...

Reddit seems determined to go the way of Digg. I loved Digg back in the day and it was rough when it died too. Feel like I’m reliving the same thing over again.

I love Nostr but it can’t replace Reddit…yet.

The amount of censorship on that platform is ludicrous.
