Thank you John for responding. The trick is to brush your tongue, not only your teeth. It helps. -- Would be interested to hear which kind of cigars you smoke..

I've tried brushing my tongue (that's a normal procedure when I brush my teeth) and mouthwash. I've tried everything, but after smoking some full bodied cigars it leaves that leathery tobacco scent for too long after smoking.

I love smoking Romeo and Julieta with a light Connecticut shade wrapper with some whiskey. It's nice while I'm smoking. But like I said, its the after effect that kills me.

idk if this might be relevant but after i cut out all carbs except for the natural sugars in milk, i would be reminded for days after i did break that and eat some potato or nuts or bread, because nothing other than lactobacillus and acidophilus grow on lactose

and yeah it takes days for stuff to fully come off your teeth, especially the gaps and crannies, and being that the tar and smoke of a cigar is probably sticking well to those crannies it probably takes days for it to come out, even with intensive brushing (it almost made no difference, tbh)

but what i'm digging at is maybe the food you are eating helps the tar stick better also... possibly there is something you can eat prior to smoking these cigars that reduces this problem... like, a coating of grease from grilled beef or similar would help

but on the other hand, hah it's been over 18 months since i smoked a cigarette, i don't miss it at all

though what prompted me to stop finally probably was in fact diabetes and/or kidney stones

I'll definitely look into that.

I don't smoke cigars often. When I do its with buddies and a glass of whiskey. If I can find a way to remove the disatisfying after effects that would be ideal.

Granted, it may be my bodies way of saying I shouldn't do it lol

well, i think cigars are pretty foul lol, i'm not surprised the stain hangs around

Thank you for this very helpful insight. I really didn't know that carbs, milk products and red meat play such an eminent role for the mouth flora. Thanks man!

well, i discovered it as part of initially just a way to save money when a friend rugged me after i landed in madeira but eventually i had to stop, it was way too much carbs altogether, but the state of my mouth was really radically different even so

but yes also carnivore diet you have a lot less dental problems and bad bacteria in there

I eat a pound of ground beef for dinner. It tastes so good.

yeah, that's about all you need for a whole day too, and not bad price, if you can actually get it where you live (very hard to find actual ground beef here in madeira, only comes as hamburger patties for like 8 euros for 640g - two of those does me pretty much along with a couple free range eggs

1 pound of ground beef is like 5 dollars where I am at.

I also eat ground beef with cheese and sour cream. I love sour cream.

oh yeah, sour cream is so awesome, gotta get the 20% tho

sour cream is a staple in yugoslavia, and ground beef, chilli and cheese is precisely nachos, just leave out the stupid corn chips and you're golden
