Question for those that are following the latest on SBF trial. The U.S. government does not intend to proceed with a second trial.

Many on bitcoin twitter are losing their minds over this, saying he’s getting away with it, especially on the campaign finance front. Unless I’m missing something, a huge reason for this seems that there is plenty to prosecute him on from his first shit show of a trial and no need to waste time? Would it really have made that much of a difference in sentencing/prison time? Where are my #nostr criminal lawyers? I don’t want to go on twitter to ask these questions 😂

I’m not a lawyer but I can see how they’ll overturn everything and set him free because he’s part of that mafia in office.

Not a layer but: what you said is the reasonable angle. He is so fucked that a second trial is pointless. He is not recovering from this.

Believable conspiracy angle: they don't want to convict him of anything campaign related otherwise there might be clawbacks.

Insane conspiracy angle: they are moving to revert the current judgement because he is "part of the swamp". Smh

It seems fair to want to know the extent that he tried to use donations to impact government policy, that said at this point maybe no one would actually care about the results of such an investigation given how tribal politics is
